China boosts refined copper imports in March

China's March refined copper imports more than doubled on year to 202,955 metric tons, the General Administration of Customs said Monday.
In January-to-March, refined copper imports totaled 483,485 tons, up 134.8% compared with the previous year.
Copper concentrate imports in March rose 2.3% to 313,407 tons, while copper concentrate imports in January- March were at 1.04 million tons, up 16%.
China is a large importer of copper concentrate, sourcing most of its supplies from South America, Mongolia and Australia.
