For years and years, the dominant party in Texas was the Dems. Up unitl LBJ and his civil rights legislation. Then, it started to switch, as it did in many southern states..

I know the history of the Dixiecrats. They left the Dems because they were becoming too liberal when it came to race relations. That was the birthing of the new GOP and resulted in Bush becoming governor of TX and then president of the US. I don't know if the TX GOP represents Texans but they managed to get Bush elected four times.

So are Texans like the TX GOP, or are they more like you, CJ and Natalie Mains of the DC? As an outsider, its hard to tell.
