Given the number of people who would like to be better off than they are, which is billions of them, and who have been artificially held back, meaning by politicians and their own stupidity in voting for politicians who kept them that way [which isn't all that artificial really I suppose as it's as real as anything else], Americans could go on buying cheap white socks for another 50 years, which is how long it would take the billions of people to get up to speed. But they'll get less cheap as the billions get pay increases due to capitalist competition for employees.

Enjoy it while it lasts. A LOT of people in the USA are living on borrow and hope, which is not traditionally a good way to run one's financial affairs, including for countries.
