I had a hernia repair that cost my plan $10k. IMHO, that is just too damn expensive--by about a factor of three.
Yes--exactly right (reading your next comment). My cost was only 10%--this is why nobody makes a fuss. But that doesn't make it right.

I use olive, walnut, hemp, sesame and macadamia nut oils to cook with (mostly olive)- and we eat lots of things that naturally contain omega 3's. Toasted flax seed is a delicious breakfast grain, and it also adds interest to baked goods (imo). But we eat lots of weird grains- the latest two we added were Farro (a delicious ancient wheat grain from Italy) and Teff- which is, I think, the world's smallest edible grain:
Yeah, I keep hearing about flax and flax oil. I am going to have to start looking for that, among other things.
I've done a lousy job of getting variety into our diets, and especially on to my kid's plate. Our youngest was screeching tonight about how much she disliked the mixed veggies. She did end up eating a raw carrot, but still... They love red meat, I would like it if they'd eat the salmon when I grill it. |
