To be fair to both Allen and Elroy, one would have to look at the details of 1. What UN authorized , 2. What Congress authorized, 3. Were the bounds overstepped ? That's a different discussion. I don't think anyone can argue with the statement that 'the coalition and Saddam's regime in Iraq fought a war, and the coalition won that war'. It has no moral judgment or deeper meaning than what it says. I'm just amazed at the negative reaction that that simple statement of fact elicits in various people. If it were a true - false question on an exam, I think the answer would be true :-)
