Yes Elroy, they do if they are being fought to bring peace and rebuild countries. Do you remember the speeches that sold this war?

"or, for the sake of peace, we will lead a coalition to disarm him. "

so, after you get through all the crap about what a threat he was we have 1. war for peace

2. "Some worry that a change of leadership in Iraq could create instability and make the situation worse. The situation could hardly get worse, for world security and for the people of Iraq. The lives of Iraqi citizens would improve dramatically if Saddam Hussein were no longer in power, just as the lives of Afghanistan's citizens improved after the Taliban" Ooops

3."If military action is necessary, the United States and our allies will help the Iraqi people rebuild their economy, and create the institutions of liberty in a unified Iraq at peace with its neighbors.
" Sure sounds like it all got rolled in to the war to me- but you want to separate this language out?

The more you read him, and the more time passes, the stupider his speeches get. If you read Bush's rhetoric it's hard to make your argument, I think. But I don't mind a little Orwellian parsing. You can call it a win if you want to.
