Chris, I think if we had a military base in Israel all the conflict with the Pals would stop. The whole idea of Israeli aggression is based on its "INSECURITY". Once it is provided with independent security, there would be no need for Israelis to do anything but build their economy, just like the South Koreans. Israel would go back to its 1967 pre-war borders since there would be no security need for them to maintain the lands and a Palestinian state could be born. Also, we would be in less wars, no Iraq, no Iran, no Syria (NO THREATS ANYMORE TO ISRAEL). So, if we just planted a base in Israel, removed the bases in Arab lands, all would function far better than what we have now, invasions of countries to keep Israel safe (Cheney is even now saying our troops have to stay in Iraq because of Israeli security). I think we'd get more bang for the buck if we put the base in Israel instead of putting bases in all the countries surrounding Israel.
