It hardly matters. While XM outperformed SIRI again in Q1 (in every respect, just as it has in the past),

With reports focusing on the deal's passing regulatory muster, operating news has gotten little attention. XM is the larger of the two in terms of subscribers, with about 7.5 million to Sirius' 6 million, but Sirius has a larger market capitalization, which is why it is the buyer.

XM subscriber numbers have been growing at a slower pace and its rate of customer defection, known as churn, has been higher than Sirius', accounting for the higher market capitalization.
