but not for much else

That is the key and always has been. Macs have been, from the start, multi-use machines.

Windows was designed for a clerk who ran Word or Excel but not much else. That's why they initially won in corporations. They were cheap and they were all the schlub who ran them needed.

So if you do a lot of things, and use a lot of apps and you use Windows you will have problems especially if you are online a lot. If you don't use a lot of apps you probably won't have problems especially if you never go online.

This is also why Mac will win. Because, increasingly, our machines are tied together and new apps are invented daily.

...

Jeeze up 10 points and I was just about to buy in. May buy in anyway because I still think that few of the Windows users who are going to switch have and there are still a lot of people who don't know that Apple is winning. I can't see anything stopping it short of the death or incarceration of Jobs.
