Probably because the spring correction came in March or April in those years.

Pescod and others have been posting averages for our junior resource stocks usually depicted by the TSX venture exchange for the last twenty years or so. It is very rare that a correction does not occur sometime between mid Feb and mid June. It is more a matter of what magnitude and how long the correction is.

Conversely many traders/gamblers like me do well buying the resource stocks in Aug or after it looks like the spring correction is over, and holding or selling down to freebies through to March.
