Paul: <There are no heat sinks> on ASUS 440LX. Some other boards do not have the sink as well. I think they did this on purpose:
to equalize the heat dissipated by P-II in order to relieve the motherboard from excessive tension! Please consult with John Y. Wang on this issue:-))

And, of course, Soyo designers put this heat sink for fun only:-)) I guess their manager just likes this green anodization and thinks it will attract more customers. He is really smart!

P.S. Your awkward attempt to defend this poorly engineered product is pathetic. You need to try harder. And please forget all you have learned 15 years ago during your scholar excercises and internship at Intel, this is over. Try to learn something more contemporary, DRAM timing for example, or basics of retail/wholesale business.
