To forgive is a Christian value and likely a tenet of other religions; however, there is one major tenet of Christianity that precedes the concept of forgiveness for mere human beings.

That is the Christian concept of treating others as you would treat them. If people use this concept there is little need for forgiveness.

From the article mentioned in previous message-------

"Campus leaders, experts and those touched by the tragedy say there are several reasons for the spirit of forgiveness. Many people are too overcome by grief to think about anything else. The fact that Cho killed himself provided enough retribution, some say. Others say the forgiveness is rooted in the strong Christian values of the area."

Now lets get to the reality of forgiveness and apologies in the current political scene (not the Cho murders)--------forgiveness and apologies are being linked to monetary restitution. In other words, apologize, forgive, and give me money because of what I think your ancestors did.

If this concept were followed to its logical conclusion, we were spend every moment apologizing for life since earth began and paying money to asuage the demanders.

Are the Spanish going to apologize for the destruction of a Great-Great Grandfather's ship and pay restitution to our family----how many hundred years ago was that anyway. Heck maybe I'll write to Spain and demand an apology. Think you see how ridiculous this all becomes.
