I think it safe to say Dershowitz's obvious first allegiance is to Israel - not the Democratic Party.

To argue that Carter has been "bought and sold" by Saudi money is ludicrous.

Carter is on the verge of meeting his maker - its not as if he's the playboy ex-President who needs dirty Saudi money to fund some sort of Donald Trump lifestyle.

Even if he's wrong I'm quite sure Jimmy Carter has approached the Israeli/Palestinian issue in "good faith".

What disturbs me about current American political discourse is that careful thought out ideas are being instantly dismissed and mis-labeled as "far-left". The counter to a lot of reasonable thinking is simply an emotion eliciting red herring argument that often tries to associate itself with some sort of vague reference to patriotism. Thats a dangerous, unrealistic way to think and the sort of thing that got our asses in Iraq.

To me it looks like Dershowitz is simply playing that popular misinformation game to progress a political agenda. No wonder the average American doesn't know which end is up.

What is badly needed is a pragmatic realistic approach to the urgent issues facing the country after so many years of neo-con unreality.
