Forget all the aspects of Sony and their willingness to engage in that stuff.

Here's the real kicker

For years Sony products were superior in most of their electronic line. That is no longer the case. Their electronics (within the past 10 years) have been some of the worst I've owned. All my stuff was either Sony or Yamaha. Both have gone way down hill in reliability and overall quality IMO. Their electronics have always commanded a premium because they were just plain better. Thats no longer the case - they're worse. They don't stand behind their products, their warranty is weak and their customer service is terrible. It's the same for Yamaha
