The new Qualcomm is built, in part, upon a strong position in WCDMA technology. The company claims it holds 47 percent of all WCDMA patents, with Sony Ericsson holding 21 percent, Nokia with 3 percent and TI with less than 1 percent, among major players.

I don't know if this is a typo, wishfull thinking or what but Motorola is excluded and 28% is unaccounted for. I don't ever recalled seeing anything out of Qualcomm that supports such numbers. It looks like it might be some form of "essential patent" response to the Goodman and Carr report. Whatever the approach it sure is weird to see Nokia quoted as having 3%.
