A breakout occurs when the price not only passes through but, of equal importance, then stays above an area of support or resistance. Thus, calling what VG did last week a breakout on the day it happened was probably premature - as the closing prices since then would seem to indicate. IMHO VG is headed for the low 2's, likely within a few weeks. We could see a brief respite after earnings, depending on how much of a spin the company manages to put on rapidly worsening fundamentals.

Incidentally, I closed my short position last week; and I am unlikely to short VG again due to the likelyhood of a buyout, which I believe is the only way Vonage can now avoid inevitable bankruptcy. In other words, I have no vested interest in voicing my bearish opinion above in case you might be wondering.

Good luck to all, bulls and bears alike!
