Gus > Iraq war, Israelis, still smarting from their botched Lebanon incursion, are busy debating how best to wage the next war.

Talking is the easy part. As everyone knows, there was nothing impulsive about the Lebanon incursion and it had been planned months in advance. The Israelis were beaten off fair and square by Hezbollah and they cannot bear the truth. So they are blaming Olmert and Peretz, as if it was their fault that the IDF didn't do any better. The truth is that, even with US latest ordinance, Israel's days of being a regional superpower are over. But they have to keep up the pretence that Israel's prestige and capability are undamaged otherwise the already considerable emigration from Israel will turn into a torrent -- and then we will see Exodus Part 2.

One can hardly blame the sugar-daddy for feeling the way he does -- after all his trouble and expense he was badly beaten up and also contracted VD and probably AIDS. Furthermore, everyone now knows what happens to those who get involved with the moll.
