Oh I've got someone in my sights right now.

On April 6, 2007 Good Friday, some derranged person booby-trapped a vacant lot on the golf course because they didn't like the golf carts going back and forth through that lot even though the owner of the lot has allowed this practice for the past 17 years. Someone new moved into the house next door and has complained about the golf carts.

Someone fashioned by hand crude spikes using 6" 1/2 thread screws which one end was ground to a very fine point. This person then used two nuts to hold a 1/2" washer in place approximately 2 1/4 inches from the tip of the spike, painted it with varying colours of green, yellow and blue as to mimic the grass around it and placed this spikes in the ground.

That Good Friday morning, the regulars that live off the course take their path through that lot, play their rounds and came back home. Later that evening, several of them went through the same lot to go to dinner at the club house and all their tires were pierced.

What they didn't know was that shortly before that happened, a young 13 year old athlete was walking instead of jogging (which is her norm) and the spike went through her shoe and her foot. Also lucky for her, she was with a friend and had a cell phone.

I arrived there under 2 minutes to see my daughter sitting on a driveway with her shoe and sock off and blood running down her foot.

She went to the ER, got a tetanus shot and antibotics. At the time, she said she stepped on a stake. We had no idea someone had booby trapped that lot until almost 2 weeks went by.

We called the police, they took her statement and I set out to speak with the person who is suspected of this henious deed.

After my speaking with him, he was observed loading his car up and hasn't been seen since.
