MM was referring to the depth of the ideas in Finnegan's wake, the concepts. It was just a subjective feeling, not science-lol. Like relativity and quantum physics. In fact James Joyce was one of the first to incorporate some of the concepts of quantum physics in his writings.

Google: The medium is the message. What better example of the importance of the medium. Before Gutenberg's invention allowing a proliferation of books MM contended we did not think in a lineal fashion. We thought more in pictures.

Google allows us instant worldwide information. MM would argue that google is more important than the information it provides i.e. without google we could not access the information so easily.

Ergo, the medium is the message-lol.

Re religion: not sure what it says? I think love and peace is supposed to be the message, but people sure seem to fight a lot of wars over it-lol.

I do not think a single war was ever fought over Finnigans Wake-lol. That is an EC joke-lol.
