I trade with both, and I think Datek is much better. You still sometimes have access issues, but they have more than one server and the executions are 1000% better than etrade - if you don't get an execution report within 1 minute, your trade is free.

I never use E*Trade's bells and whistles, because they're too slow. If you use them, you might be missing out on something. Otherwise, I'd choose Datek for sure.
