Re: SO WHAT DO YOU BUNCH OF REDNECKS THINK? (1 Rating) 1-May-07 01:51 pm I think this is going to be a strong quarter for Navteq for the following reasons:

1) PND Growth Surging: Commentary from Garmin and TomTom looks encouraging, and even though Garmin showed some weakness, the most important fact is that we're seeing better-than-expected growth in PNDs.

2) Auto environment improving: This quarter, Navteq won new business from Volkwagen and Peugeot. Luxury European auto sales saw smaller seasonal sequential unit declines
relative to last year.

3) Competition Weakening Further, Less Pricing Pressure: With the decision by BMW and Mercedes Benz to dual source their IVN platforms, Teleatlas has reduced incentive to use pricing as a means to win business.

4) Increased Adoption in N. American: Navteq has easy year-over-year comps with North American navigation adoption rates. Commentary from some analysts suggests that adoption grew 66%, compared to 15% last year.

5) Favorable Currency Environment: NVT benefits from a weaker dollar and this should be additive both year-over-year and quarter over quarter.

Sentiment : Strong Buy (posted by ebitdammit on Yahoo Message board)
