I think 8M for CY 2008 is as conservative as it gets. All indications are that they *could* sell that many in 2007 alone.

Honestly, until there is a review, we dont have a clue on how many of these Apple might sell. There are so many things that could go wrong....with battery life and OS stability likely at the top of the list. Other giant unknowns include the actual cost of the iPhone (can they drop prices if sales dont go well?), the RF performance, the user interface and probably a half dozen others that could single handedly kill sales. Apple needs to get quite a bit right in a version 1.0 product for the product to be a success.

OTOH, if they do manage to get things right, the market is big enough to support substantially more than 10 million units from Apple :-)....
