Foxlink heads for strong sales, to start shipping iPhone parts in May, says paper

Connector specialist Foxlink expects its revenues and profitability to improve progressively from the second quarter 2007 after a flat performance in the first quarter, according to sources at the company. The Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) echoed the company's business outlook and indicated the company will start shipping parts for iPhone in May.
The company reported that its after-tax profits were flat at NT$511 million (US$15.3 million) in the first quarter, as compared to the same quarter of 2006. The earnings translate into a net EPS (earnings per share) of NT$1.37 for the quarter, down from NT$1.58 of a year earlier.
A May 2 EDN report said that Foxlink will see its revenues start to pick up from the second quarter on increasing shipments to Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Nokia. In addition, the company will also begin to ship parts and components for iPhone in May, the paper added.
In related news, the board of Foxlink also approved a plan to distribute dividends of NT$3.50, including NT$3.0 in cash and NT$0.50 in shares, for its 2006 operations.
