The F-22 is terrific for most conventional air missions.

It's an "overkill" build-out that we will never need. The only possible conventional opponent is China, which we will never fight. If they should go nuts in the Taiwan straight, we could knock out anything they have with our 15s, 16s, and 18s.

So the 22's and the 35's are wasting billions we could use for SF. Not the first time we have done this. We took Fighter aircraft to Vietnam that were designed to deliver tactical nukes against the Russians. And our pilots paid for it.
