Composite Technology Announces Successful ACCC Conductor Installation at National Grid Testing Facility

IRVINE, Calif., May 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Composite Technology Corporation (CTC) (OTC Bulletin Board: CPTC - News) announced today that its subsidiary, CTC Cable has successfully completed its first double bundled installation at the National Grid's test facility in Eakring, Nottingham, United Kingdom. The double bundled assembly was installed with 400 kV insulators and corona rings on twin ACCC Vienna 620 square mm conductors manufactured at Lamifil n.v. in Belgium (www.lamifil.com). These European standard ACCC conductors are equivalent to the US Cardinal 1222 kcmil size. ACCC conductors have been under evaluation by National Grid since 2005 and this installation forms part of the field installation testing part of the ACCC type registration process. CTC is introducing the ACCC conductors into the UK and Irish markets through a subsidiary of Babcock Networks "EVE Group". ACCC conductors are under consideration for their high current capacity, thermal stability, and improved electrical throughput and resistance.
