"Cooking 9 slabs of ribs to snack on for Rachel's party

Hummmm...I'm beginning to wonder if that SI get together doesn't need to be at YOUR place!!! "

Hey, I like ribs<G>! But I'm not having to do the heavy stuff to get them done. One of the guys I cook with, is cooking for 150 ladies for a church event tomorrow and is getting a industrial size smoker to cook with. When I heard about that and the date, I innocently asked if there might be a rack or two open in which I could cook a slab or two of ribs for Rachel's party. Well, what do you know, there was some room in the smoker, so I convinced Tina that ribs would be good finger food<G> and off I go to get a case of them. And if there are any left overs, I have plenty of volunteers willing to sacrifice and take a few home!

"I had to ask if they REALLY thought it was sad. :)"

I'm with you. I've been preparing them to be independent from day 1. And you are right, it is the next step. Rachel has quickly started seeing that being independent and having to PAY for her own stuff as an independent young lady, is not quite what it is cracked up to be. It's one thing to get things with daddy's money, yet quite different when she is supplying the cash. Great object lesson!

Wish you could send some of that rain our way. We are having a drought and have a number of large fires within 60 miles or so of Jacksonville and everything is a tenderbox, so more fires are to be expected unless we can get a good bit of rain for a good bit of time. The largest fire produces a lot of smoke and ash depending on which way the wind is blowing. This morning we had lots of fog and smoke, it was scary driving in to work. People are crazy. You can't see and they are driving like visibility is unlimited instead of being 100-200 yards.

Anyway, calculate that payroll. It's almost the weekend.
