I think Rudy loses. He comes across as way too desperate. He's obviously willing to say anything to wriggle away from his former rather liberal social positions- and that doesn't make him look good to anyone. Desperation like that, and a failure to have any backbone about what you really believe, (or worse- maybe he just doesn't care)- doesn't look good to either party. IMO Standing for something weird, is probably better than looking like you don't stand for anything. I agree with you about Paul though.
