A 'law' of science (same as a theory) is ONLY a 'law' until it is disproven or changed & replaced. Happens all the time. It used to be that the 'law' held that the nucleus of an atom was the smallest discrete unit of matter --- now that belief has been tossed on the rubbish heap of outmoded concepts. The difference between a 'law' of science, and a 'theory' of science, and even a 'hypothesis' of science... is a matter of DEGREES of proof, (not of 'kind').
