"Our main argument is that Hiasl is a person and has basic legal rights,"

Adult male chimps are prone to bouts of extreme violence, especially if they feel threatened by a strange male. If Hiasl is declare a 'person', then gets out of his cage and rips the face and balls off of some unlucky visitor (I'm not making this up, male chimps have done this), will Hiasl be charged with attempted murder and sent to jail?

Just asking.
