Diver,

In a letter to the limited partners, GRNO stated that its law firm advised that communication with the limited partners could be interpreted by the SEC as violations of securities laws. The basis for this is that insider information would in essence be provided to a select few (the limited partners) before the general public was notified. Sort of a catch-22, as GRNO is the GP and has fiduciary responsibilities to both the partnership and the the GRNO common stockholders. In a nutshell, the limited partners in theory could buy/sell GRNO common based on information not yet available to the general public. I don't know whether the law firm received actual guidance from the SEC and used legaleeze in the letter or simply based their opinion on previous interpretations/experience.

The curtailment of communication between GRNO and the limited partners is essentially the result of the de facto power of the SEC and reasoned interpretation of securities laws on the part of the law firm.

Forbidding might not be the best word to use, so maybe we can choose a better one tucked away between the hairs?

Oh, and you're quite welcome for my verifying who registered to sell the 35k shares. I am available for simple research anytime you need assistance. :) Jeeze Diver, I know you have issues with Bill Carraway and GRNO, but how about a little netiquette? Thankfully my gratification always comes from within and a simple thanks is not necessary. But IMO, your credibility and stature on this thread will only diminish if you continue posting with the style and substance of your recent rantings and innuendos. You know, questions in the vein of "Have you stopped beating your dog?" and such. How does one answer that? Every thread needs a _credible_ VP in charge of IE to occasionally slap our peepees and I prefer you continue to serve in that position.
