Doubtless AMD can squeeze 266 mhz out of their .35 micron process. I think you probably realize this. Whether or not they will bother at this point is another question. In any case, the additional 33 mhz that Intel can get from their process results means that Intel's process, which you seem to think is so much more advanced, only gives Intel a 12% performance advantage. If AMD can stay within 33 mhz of Intel and produce in volume, it will be a very profitable company, irrespective of its "inferior" process.
