BA, re: A single payer system (although not perfect) would take out the middle man. end of story. But the "middle man" is "profit". And "profit" is always "good". The "free market" is always the most "efficient". An inefficient, ineffective bloated US health care system doesn't negate the ideology. NO direct evidence negates the ideology. Get with the program you freaking socialist.
