The thing though is that you want to do lots of this options stuff in an IRA or tax-deferred account though, is that right? You can do lots of trades - as long as you don't run afoul of the brokerage/gov't rules we're talking about - and you don't have to be concerned with keeping records or reporting gains/losses to the fed/state gov't. And because otherwise (in a taxable account) the gains will always be short-term and subject to higher tax payments than long-term. These the reasons?
