<<This was brave, and Mr. Gutierrez quickly discovered what happens to brave politicians. "We expected much better from Congressman Luis Gutierrez," spat Nativo Lopez, president of the Mexican American Political Association, and the Al Sharpton of California. Mr. Lopez detailed his "repulsion" to the legislation and declared it a "major sell-out . . . of our community." He's been joined by other radical Latino groups--as well as social-justice and union outfits--in voicing opposition to pretty much anything less than full and immediate amnesty for all current, and future, immigrants.>>

Of course, if we DO-with the help of conservative leadership-get past our Orville Faubus hatred of the Hispanic wave-where does that leave the radical anti-American elements among them? Hint: All dressed up and nowhere to go, including the left's cocktail parties. It's one of the main reasons sanity must prevail in the conservative movement. George Bush knows this. Fortunately, he also knows the difference between a LEADER and a career politician.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if the Dems stonewall on immigration reform for 2 years. Their willingness to engage in the politically suicidal traitor course on Iraq proves that they are STILL lackeys to their anti-American "base". Presidential term limits or not, it's still all about Bush for them (which ALSO proves that Bush is a leader.)...
