So did you manufacture the wire, the inductor, the diode/crystal, the capacitor or did you buy them off the shelf. Why did you ask about the crystal if you knew what your diode was? Were not all first diodes crystals?

And I understand you have no clue as the use of a crystal in LC circuit tuning of radio waves to detect the informaton carried.

If you don't hear signal, the radio is not really tuned.
