We live in a different world today and not a better one IMO. When I was young that women would have come out of the store to find some grandmother soothing her kid who would have then ripped mom a new one about being so immature as to leave a child of that age alone in the car. Today we don't dare be helpful.

I would have told her to call the cops and while we are at it what in the hell is wrong with you leaving a child alone in an unlocked car to be kidnapped by any pervert that comes walking by. I would have read her the riot act.
