You imagine hedgehog dendrites instead of hair? But I'm sure whatever biology they were trying to turn on was more complicated than that--the casual reader like myself might wonder if the hair treatment caused cancer. I suppose this is a place to start en.wikipedia.org Activation of the hedgehog pathway is required for transition of the hair follicle from the resting to the growth phase But back to cancer... There is a link to Cyclopamine, but I am afraid there isn't much there yet. en.wikipedia.org I couldn't tell you what chemistry is being explored by Curis (and Infinity--and maybe others) but they are related to this natural plant chemical, a steroidal jerveratrum alkaloids. Ah yes. Is there a chemist in the house?
