No I don't think it is fine and dandy. But most of your list is very difficult to disprove, being single time events. I really don't care if people have metaphysical beliefs because they fill some need in their life.

I have a major problem when the set of beliefs is at variance with a large body of modern knowledge. Why don't you enlighten us as to your views on a Holocaust denier, that is someone who claimed an alternate history for an event that was 60 years old. Is it just the elapsed time that makes such belief acceptable to you, or does it perhaps also correlate with the weight of evidence? Would a Holocaust denier 1000 years from now strike you as an acceptable belief?

BTW, you need to open your eyes a bit to how much faith does affect policy. Our adventures in the ME would not have happened but for the support of certain Christian views. Similarly, our policies on the environment and global warming also reflect the reach of these same religious views. Reality will eventually change all of the above, that at least is good. Peoples faith can lead them down wrong paths for awhile, but most such people remain somewhat awake to reality. It is just that they unfortunately will not be preemptive in the right way, but will only react, and generally not until things are pretty bad.
