I love this idea too. It's like the network model of computing VS the old central mainframe model, much more reliable.

Speaking for myself, once it's affordable, I'd be willing to invest a lot of my own money into generating my own power, and I think I'm not in the minority. I'd like to see many other ideas than photovoltaic developed with the suburban homeowner in mind. We've all got yards we could devote to power generation..
