5/11/07 Update
The week's big biotech news, of course, was the Dendreon train wreck. Not only did it devastate the DNDN-laden Charity portfolios but there was lots of collateral damage to biotechs in general. The Nasdaq Biotech Index closed Friday up 3.31% YTD (vs. up 6.87% YTD a week ago), while the median of the Contest portfolios finished the week up 1.21% YTD (vs. up 7.13% YTD a week ago). At week's end, 17 of the 31 Contest portfolios were in the black with 13 of the 31 beating the NBI.
The Contest lead was taken by BIOFISH's COR-heavy portfolio with a 25.1% YTD portfolio gain. The next three portfolios below BIOFISH (FRED, RCMAC, ICEBERG) also hold COR.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
