Elmat writes to his provider here in Iran last Thursday "I need to move into a new apt Monday and would like to take my ADSL connection there.
Could you please tell me what’s required?

I don’t need to lose my connection for long time. Can we schedule that for next week?"

His reply today -Saturday- after I gave my new number:

"Dear Sir

Unfortunately your new tel. center is full.
you are in our waiting list. I will call you as soon as possible."

USD350 -gear and six months paid in advance- wasted and idle until they add some capacity and I am now forced to go back to dial up on Monday.

This is why I say the ADSL is a just a lase of live to telcos because we cannot hook up our laptops over a wireless network. Once that wireless network is on air, we will no longer be subject to this type of thing.
