This is one of the best writing on SI. I am not a poker player but I remember that as a newly graduate, my boss told me "the decision that you made, given the data, given your knowledge and experience and the urgency to fix the problem, was the right one - even if the outcome was not what you want".

I am going to print your advice and read it again and again when I deviate from the plan.
