What's next?

• July 1: Palin administration will issue a request for applications. Applicants will submit their proposals for building the gas line under the criteria outlined in AGIA.

• Oct. 1: Deadline to submit a proposal. During this time, the applications will remain confidential to ensure fair competition.

• CONSIDERATION: The administration will determine which applications meet the criteria for the state license. Applications that fall short of the state's 'must-haves' will not be considered.

• 60-day public notice: Period in which Alaskans may comment on the submitted proposals that are deemed complete.

• SELECTION: The administration will consider applicants, taking public comments into consideration.

• End of January: Administration officials say they hope to submit a chosen application for legislative review by the time lawmakers gather in Juneau for the start of the 2008 session.

• LEGISLATURE: Lawmakers will have 90 days to consider the administration's selection. What's next?
