Like I've said... Newt could provide potentially valuable 'geographic balance' to a Northerner heading up the ticket... but, at the same time, with his 'negatives' in the polls as high as his 'positives' (same situation Hillary finds herself in) he could possibly prove to be popular WITHIN certain Republican constituencies (possibly helping to 'bring the base on board'), while not gaining much for the ticket in the general election.
