"Carbon footprint" is a religion now--yuppies
buy their Priuses and feel absolved. But unless
you live in a mud hut, scavenge fuel and live
like a termite...

Fossil fuels will be used, full stop. There is
nothing wrong with squeezing out efficiencies,
I'm all for that--no harm in putting up a clothes
line and getting on your bike. But the holier than
thou crap is foolishness. I have a coworker who
bought a diesel, so he could drive halfway across
town and buy biodiesel--what bullshit! Ride the bus
if you need redemption.
