Not long ago, I watched a documentary on some people people who trekked
across the Canadian arctic.
They charged all of their camera gear (still and video cams)
using just the flexible solar cell panels on their backpacks.

I've been thinking of getting something similar if we end up doing
a lot of back country hiking and paddling this year.
My camera gear is always the one thing that needs power
when we're off in the bush.
