Camelot's major downfall was the fact that they were not able to produce a competitive product...PERIOD. All of the companies that entered the market at the same time have been able to deal with Windows 95... and what ever else has confronted them. On the other hand...Camelot announced a product ...sold it to hundreds/thousands of people...it never worked adequately,(just look at sales figures) whether for Windows 3.x or Windows 95.
Their "direct connection" scheme using email addresses never worked at all. When 1.03 was released they continued to call it "direct connection" but instituted a server that people log into ...without knowing so...when they fire up the app... this is the ONLY way people can connect to another Digiphone user. The audio quality has been lousy from the beginning. There is no addressing scheme to find what people are online. This is a major defect. Yes many want to be able to call directly, but guess what ..so far the hobbyist that DOES want this capability has provided many more dollars than the folks that don't want it.
Camelot flat screwed up. The reason they did was because of management. They insisted upon putting out a product that was inadequate, this alienated the people that they should have been courting...the folks online, those that might have helped them sell their product. They refused to allow downloads of a demo ...when everyone else did. This caused them to lose many customers. They pissed off, harassed, and otherwise alienated their development staff to the point that 80% of them quit at a critical point in the development of Digiphone 2.0. So much so that the application is not yet available almost a year after they put out a press release saying that it was shipping...
They have never delivered a product on time... and when they have finally come up with something (on average 10 months to a year after the promise date) it was 3 generations behind the competition.
Don't give me any crap about complexity.. everyone else in the business dealt with it, all of their competitors had products compatible with Win 95 when it was released!! Camelot was/is incompetent and generally incapable, as a result they sell less product than folks selling phone apps out of Pakistan...where they are publicly unfunded , run by 4 guys and the programs are illegal!! (I can tell you where to send them a check...probably be a better investment than Camelot)
They, Camelot, might have something, but , the track record indicates that they most likely DO NOT.
Close your eyes and send good money after bad...
Hope that you win the lottery tomorrow... you are as likely to succeed at that as ever seeing Camelot producing a viable product (let alone figuring out how to market it).
I checked with 3 brokers..a poster to this list checked a reputable electronic online service, there flat was NO (illegal) after hour trading. Somebody is woofin you son !!
Camelot will likely NOT come back. After this length of time of no trading, they will likely be delisted.... then you can go pay 10 cents on the dollar for your investment...if you can find a way to trade it ??
Bud, you need to get a serious reality check. I have no idea why you seem to shamelessly hype this piece of crap... but you should go do some homework, then stop hurting yourself and possibly others by this utterly inane series of claims for the viability of this major loser !!
As far as I know.. there is no involvement by the SEC in the trading halt (though there may well be a SEC investigation ongoing). This is between Camelot and NASDAQ. The SEC NEVER announces any investigations, and they will not halt trading unless they have DETERMINED that there has been a violation. BUT, if Camelot has managed to completely piss off NASDAQ with their unethical practices, and get delisted, they are history. If they settle with NASDAQ, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with any stamp of approval by the SEC.
