Ron Paul hit some strong notes last night on a number of issues that reflected TRADITIONAL republican conservative values...caution about intervention in foreign countries (quoting Reagan of all people!), spending, intrusion into private lives, caution as a philosophical watchword. He pointed out that he is the most consistently correct of the major candidates when it came to the likely outcome of Iraq. He said it would be a quagmire in 2002 and he has never changed him view on that.... He may seem out of touch, but he is serving as the conscience of the traditional conservatives out there...which is why he did so well.
