KT,

Interesting exchange between Ron Paul and Rudy last night.

It was nice to see that at least one member of a major political party isn't delusional or wearing pink panties underneath his suit.

To me, it couldn't be more obvious that the reason we were attacked on 9/11 was because of our constant biased meddling in the region for many decades. The demands of Osama bin Laden were well documented long before 9/11.

Admitting why we were really attacked is not the same as saying that Osama bin Laden was justified in killing thousands of civilians. It's a statement of fact that allows rational thought about a response.

We need people willing to stand up for the things we know are right, acknowledge that we still need to protect oil supplies "for the world" until economically viable alternatives can be developed and implemented, and to protect our interests. At the same time, we need to limit our extremely biased meddling.

Running around blowing everyone up and meddling in a biased way is crazy, but packing our bags and leaving without protecting US interests and global oil supples would simply hand them over to a bunch of psychotic lunatics and possibly bring down everything we value. That's equally crazy.

Neither side gets that we need a middle ground that acknowledges our policy errors, but still takes care of the world's needs.
