You are a great example of what I wrote.
Rather than respond to the real question, which is "why are you guys so incredibly screwed up and what are you going to do about it?", your response is a stupid ad hominem message.
But you do prove my point, which is that there is a real and significant inability to decipher reality in the ME. And as a corollary, my point is that so long as the oil flows, and it will because your Big Mustaches need it to flow, and the rest of what you have to offer is inconsequential. As the author of the piece said, the ME doesn't really matter. This is the conclusion I am getting ready to adopt.
Fixing things will be difficult for your guys. It's a cultural thing, at the end of the day, something that only time and the rejection of consistent failure will cure.
But it is going to take time, lots of time, lots of adjustments of attitude. You are obviously much too dyed in the wool to change. Perhaps your grandchildren, if they are educated rather than terrorized by the next pimpoid Big Mustache, might have a chance.
The problem, of course, is that by the time you get to mid 20th Century standards, the rest of the globe will be living in the late 21st century.
You've got a lot of catching up to do and the world is moving swiftly. Your task will be that much harder because I think the world will ultimately adopt the stance that the ME indeed doesn't matter so long as the oil flows. |
